• Artist Alexandra Nechita paints masterpiece for the World Peace Music Awards, June 22, 2004
 

Painting captures essence of the concert honoring musicians' contributions to peace, proceeds to benefit charities

 

"Peace is Not an Option" is a commemorative masterpiece which captures the essence of the World Peace Music Awards. Nechita created this expressionist painting with striking symbols of peace, humanity and music. The collage illustration of joined hands, signs of prayer, flying doves, and musicians expressing their passion are elements that make this artwork an inspirational statement in the name of peace. Essentially, the painting reveals the spiritual, physical and powerful impact of music to unify people of all races, from all walks of life.

  • 249 exemplars of this special acrylic-on-canvas painting will be reproduced by the world famous Mourlot Atelier studio in Paris - former studio to legendary artists such as Picasso and Miró.
  • 100 of these signed and certified limited edition lithographs will be sold exclusively by WPMA during the show in Vietnam.
  • A special edition run of over 5,000 posters will be created; 200 will be signed by Nechita and will also be sold throughout the show.

This state of the art 800 seat theater will also house an art exhibition space and be the home to all of the schools drama and music productions as well as art exhibits.Alexandra will be graduating from the school in June and the official opening of the theater will take place in September.

The lobby of the theater will be adorned with a large sculpture by Alexandra as well as a number of her works and
a new logo designed especially for the theater.

The facility will serve the school as well as the surrounding community bringing the joy of the arts for generations to come.
